The staff at the Davenport Audiology & Hearing Aid Center has been providing professional hearing health care services to eastern Iowa and western Illinois since 1957. Founded by William Syers Sr. in the late 1940s, Davenport Audiology & Hearing Aid Center was incorporated in 1957 when William Syers Jr. joined the practice. In 1982 Dr. Micheal C. Hartman, Au.D., current corporation president, joined the family practice. Today, we have four outreach clinics to better serve the bi-state area. In Illinois those locations are Aledo, East Moline, and Geneseo.

Dr. Hartman

Micheal C. Hartman, Au.D.has been assisting individuals with hearing loss in the Quad City area for over 35 years.  Dr. Hartman originated from northeast Kansas and settled in the Quad City region after his father retired from the military.  He received a BA degree in Biology from Wabash College, Crawfordsville, Indiana; an MA in Audiology from Western Illinois; and his Doctor of Audiology from the University of Florida, Gainesville.  Following his externship in 1982 with the Physician and Surgeon Clinic, Quincy, Illinois, Dr. Hartman joined the family practice at the Davenport Hearing Aid Center, Inc. in 1982 as staff audiologist.  He received his entry level Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC-A) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association in 1982.

Dr. Hartman is married to the former Chryss Syers and they have three children, Andy, Aimee, and Tony, and two grandchildren.  In 1995 they purchased Davenport Hearing Aid Center from Chryss’s father, continuing the family practice for three generations.  Dr. Hartman is licensed as an audiologist and hearing aid dispenser in Iowa and Illinois.  He is a former board member and president of the Iowa Hearing Association and former board member of the Audiology Foundation of America.  Dr. Hartman is a member of the Iowa Hearing Association, American Academy of Audiology, Academy of Dispensing Audiology and the Illinois Academy of Audiology.  Dr. Hartman has presented at state association meetings, long-term nursing care facilities, and intermediate care facilities.  In his spare time, he practices taekwondo/kickboxing and enjoys gardening, seasonal outdoor activities, and family activities.

Brenda has been with Davenport Audiology since 2016 as Patient Care Coordinator.  Brenda is a Quad Cities native and enjoys working out, music and family.

Sandy Thiele

SANDY

Sandy Thiele lives in Durant, Iowa with her husband. She is in Marketing, creating the cards for the newsletters, open houses, birthdays and Christmas. In her spare time she works with children at Wilson elementary school with Quest for Christ. She is also financial coordinator for Stonecroft Ministry. She likes to walk her dog Pollyanna, which many patients have met in the office, do puzzles, read and go to Florida to visit her two daughters and husbands and three grandchildren.
